The Black Panther Movie vs. Black Pseudo Revolutionary & Intellectual Stupidity

Did you know the Black Panther comic book character actually predates the Black Panther Party? The Black Panther character was first released in July 1966 in a series of comics titled "Jungle Action" with the storyline written by Don McGregor, and the BPP was officially formed in October 1966. Stan Lee had to briefly change the name of the character to the "Black Leopard" because of the perception that he made the character and the fictional nation of Wakanda as an homage to the Black Panther Party.
I appreciate Stan Lee & Jack Kirby (illustrator) and don't care that they're white on this issue, because I value what they did in giving kids a reason to dream and inspire them through fantasy fiction. Black comic writers & illustrators like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Reginald Hudlin, Christopher Priest and others largely took over the story of the Black Panther through the years to take Stan Lee's original creation to greater heights that have helped bring this marvelous story to the big screen. I think it is a disgrace that some Black folks now want to petition for 25% of a movie & character they didn't create. What is stopping any of us from creating our own characters? Build "quality" stuff and don't produce garbage that you expect Black folks to support just because you're black too
Where will the 25% go to? What are you going to do with it? What cohesive body among us has enough integrity or has proved themselves trustworthy enough to handle it? This is just another senseless rant & demand without a clearly thought out plan. We won't even police the charlatans among us who spend their time fighting each other, but we give them a pass just because they're black, and turn on each other over them while letting them continue to take advantage of us.
Black folks didn't create the Black Panther character but there has been a benefit from its creation to the minds and self image of Black youth. The men who created it "weren't out to get us". They were also trying to address the social & racial inequities they saw during that time. I'm going to see it because I want too, and love it having a predominantly black cast with a young black director. I don't care for your racialized politics, economics, or opinion on this. I'm for anything that makes us feel better about our beautiful black selves and paints us in a positive light.
I'm sick of Black pseudo revolutionaries & intellectuals making everyone our enemy, politicizing everything so we can never enjoy it or life, always claiming to "decode" nonsense, creating non-stop conspiracies, not establishing quality allies, ranting to justify their mess when they get called out, and bringing their doom & gloom on whatever is associated with us that those outside of us may be involved with. The Black Panther Party worked with others for civil & human rights while keeping their allegiance to Black people. The movement imploded from within, not outside.
These so called Black leaders & scholars among us today are a far cry from the BPP, and they only promote an agenda of blind anger built on fear mongering to make white people into the "almighty whitey" while creating greater division among us as they're being condescending to us whenever offended by Black folks for not buying into their bull-crap. Yet, they too want our dollars for their nonsense. Negro please! It's a movie, not life changing legislation. Enjoy the movie. ~ Mr. Blaktastic
