Is H.R.40 really about reparations or is it a crafty "y'all hush" filibuster to give the appearance that the Democratic party is serious about the issue of reparations to ADOS (American Descendants Of Slaves) in order to help the DNC control the Black vote? It is not meant to help give ADOS reparations but to further delay and perhaps even deny them. Pay close attention to the wording. The first paragraph clearly states the purpose of this reintroduced bill is, "to establish a commission study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery..." This is just a slick unorthodox filibuster presented as a bill to shut us up, and they will filibuster the filibuster to prevent writing the check while seeking Black votes.
FILIBUSTER - (politics) A tactic (such as giving long, often irrelevant speeches) employed to delay the proceedings of, or the making of a decision by, a legislative body, particularly the United States Senate. (politics) A member of a legislative body causing such an obstruction; a filibusterer.
When Congress wants to delay something in the hopes that it goes away then they filibuster it. H.R.40 is a bill to have a conversation about an issue on which the research has already been done over the span of at least the last 50-years since the end of the Civil Rights era which concluded with the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for asking for our "check". As long as Dr. King had a dream that didn't demand reparations everything was fine. However, when he woke up and called his dream a nightmare he became more unpopular at the end of his life even among Black people than at any time. Dr. King didn't ask for a bill but for our check!
While I detest Donald Trump the truth of his Presidency and the earlier part of his term with a Republican controlled Congress sent a clear message to the DNC that Black votes are not theirs by default to be taken for granted. There's a mad scramble by the DNC to placate ADOS while they move forward with pushing immigrants, the new non-binary virtually sexless Transgender movement, and a feminist agenda that will keep Black women as the caboose to white women who always abandon them but use them to bolster women's numbers. If you examine the original Bill that was introduced in 2015 by Senator Conyers you'll notice that it doesn't mention reparations, because reparations was NOT the intent of the Bill. The word "reparations" was too taboo for our Congress people to even use, and they didn't switch up until ADOS pressure made them.
Our demands should be like those of Dr. MLK in that we want our check, and not more Congressional babble. You can tell me all about "Robert's Rules of Order" and get technical on what a filibuster is, but the bottom line is H.R.40 is fancy bullshit to avoid the real issue like reparations. We asked for reparations concerning an issue that needs no further study from some abstract commission and we got a Congress approved human puppet show of hand picked celebrities as our representatives. Only one of them said anything that made sense to me. If we don't get substantial actions then we must take substantial actions by getting rid of these filibustering folks at the polls and at anytime we lose confidence in them. ~ Mr. Blaktastic
